I just finished watching The Wiz Live and let me tell you it was everything I wanted and at the same time....everything I didn't know I needed! Not only was the show jam-packed with great musical numbers, great acting and overall Black excellence, but there was also plenty of fab natural hair looks to go around!

Yessss David Alen Grier came through with a flawless performance as the Cowardly Lion. I feel super ignorant for not knowing about his theater background, but he did one heck of a job! And the best part? His character wore dreadlocks!

The Munchkins showed up and showed out in colorful red and orange natural hair looks! I spotted afro puffs, a twist out, and I'm pretty sure I saw a brother with a tapered cut. It was all sorts of magical!

Uzo Aduba was stunning as Glinda the Good Witch! When she descended in all her golden glory I had to wipe a tear from my eye. She looked and sounded amazing! I was especially happy to see that they ditched the blonde wig she was originally wearing in the promotional images, and instead went with a regal braided updo.
